Always love me some nu KE$HA

Pop rebel KE$HA is heating up a storm with new buzz single “Supernatural” taken off of her yet-to-be-titled sophomore effort which is slated for a fall/winter release. In a recent interview, Miss Sebert revealed ” I want to take enough time to make sure it’s the reinvention of pop music. That’s the ultimate goal, to reinvent pop music.”
Uhm… quite modest.

Check out a snippet of the new tune that is indeed “Supernatural” !

NEW: CAT POWER – RUIN

Chan Marshall aka Cat Power returns with the release of new track “Ruin” which serves as the lead single off her new album “Sun” due September 3.
It’s definitely a new sound she’s offering this time round. But in a positive way. The cut is much more dynamic and it comes with a cool piano-driven rhythm.

AZEALIA BANKS – OUR NEW MONARCH

Image

Game. Set. Match.

New York femcee Azealia Banks is on her best way to stardom. There is no doubt the 20 year old rap machine will take the lead in the industry very soon. In fact, what she accomplished within the last year is quite impressive.

She finished 3rd for BBC’s “Sound of 2012”. She released her debut single “212” (feat. Lazy Jay) which catapulted her to the top of the UK charts and others. She’s said to be Lagerfeld’s new muse, was praised for her killer set at this year’s “Coachella” and she’s currently working with a bunch of top-notch producers like Paul Epworth, Diplo and the one and only Missy Elliott.

This year finally sees the release of her “1991” EP (due this summer) and her debut album “Broke with Expensive Taste” which is slated for September.
It’s gonna be exciting how things will turn out for A-Banks.
Watch out, Nicki!

You can now listen to “212” and the incredibly sick “Bambi” and let you convince by her talent. Rrraah!

L.A. based indie rockers BEST COAST have enjoyed popularity since their eponomous debut “Crazy For You” back in 2010. The band decided to return to the studio soon and started recording “The Only Place”. Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno continue with what they’re best at, creating timeless surf pop combined with their very unique guitar riffs that make you dream of spending the summer with your best friends driving around in California with your fancy shades on à la “We’re so alternative.”
First single “The Only Place” has already hit radio stations and turned out to be the perfect soundtrack for the summer of 2012.
Now, one week before the actual release of their 2nd studio album, you can stream the album on NPR in its entirety. It’s worth a listen, so check it out!

RISING STAR: GRIMES

Image

24 year old Canadian electronic artist Grimes isn’t playing this time around. The release of “Visions”, her 3rd studio album, saw the singer making quite an effort to establish herself as one of the watch-outs for 2012.
The dreampopish, at some point quite dark electronica-like set contains a bunch of single-worthy tracks. You can watch a fan-made video for “Circumambient”below. The song is quite the ish (and it’s not the only one).
