Officially back: No Doubt

Life’s good. Gwen Stefani and her longtime pals have released ‘Settle Down‘, the lead single taken from their upcoming comeback album ‘Push&Shove‘ which is slated for a September release. The cut sounds fresh and energetic. Just not like the trash you’re offered by recent chart toppers (no specific hints). Different but still No Doubt. Feels good to have ’em back!
Roll on September!

The XX – Angels

Say hello to ‘Angels‘, the official first single off of the XX’s sophomore effort ‘Coexist‘. The album will hit stores early September. ‘Angels’ seems to be all Romy Madley Croft’s cause she takes control of the whole thing with her angelic (ha!) voice. Nevertheless, it’s the entire band that delivers (as usual).
A nice way to start into the week.

Frank Ocean releases ‘Channel Orange’

Last night “Team Ocean” surprisingly released the long-awaited debut album of America’s new favourite R’n’B maestro.
Best known for his appearences on last year’s epic “Watch the Throne” and his lyrical work for fellow artists Beyoncé, Brandy and more, he’s now ready to dominate charts all by himself.

Get familiar with the album’s first single “Pyramids” in case you haven’t heard the outstanding track yet.

In addition to that, you can also watch his performance of one of the album’s highlights “Bad Religion” when he took his game to Jimmy Fallon last night.

Welcome back…

P!NK

Today saw the probably unintentional release of Blow Me (One Last Kiss) – P!nk’s brand new single which is lifted from her forthcoming 6th studio album. Not feelin’ the Greg Kurstin-produced track yet, but we’ll see how massive media impact will change my mind sooner or later.

Et voilà:

Always love me some nu KE$HA

Pop rebel KE$HA is heating up a storm with new buzz single “Supernatural” taken off of her yet-to-be-titled sophomore effort which is slated for a fall/winter release. In a recent interview, Miss Sebert revealed ” I want to take enough time to make sure it’s the reinvention of pop music. That’s the ultimate goal, to reinvent pop music.”
Uhm… quite modest.

Check out a snippet of the new tune that is indeed “Supernatural” !

NEW: CAT POWER – RUIN

Chan Marshall aka Cat Power returns with the release of new track “Ruin” which serves as the lead single off her new album “Sun” due September 3.
It’s definitely a new sound she’s offering this time round. But in a positive way. The cut is much more dynamic and it comes with a cool piano-driven rhythm.

Get into the song on her official website where you can also download it for free! #ilike

AZEALIA BANKS – OUR NEW MONARCH

Image

Game. Set. Match.

New York femcee Azealia Banks is on her best way to stardom. There is no doubt the 20 year old rap machine will take the lead in the industry very soon. In fact, what she accomplished within the last year is quite impressive.

She finished 3rd for BBC’s “Sound of 2012”. She released her debut single “212” (feat. Lazy Jay) which catapulted her to the top of the UK charts and others. She’s said to be Lagerfeld’s new muse, was praised for her killer set at this year’s “Coachella” and she’s currently working with a bunch of top-notch producers like Paul Epworth, Diplo and the one and only Missy Elliott.

This year finally sees the release of her “1991” EP (due this summer) and her debut album “Broke with Expensive Taste” which is slated for September.
It’s gonna be exciting how things will turn out for A-Banks.
Watch out, Nicki!

You can now listen to “212” and the incredibly sick “Bambi” and let you convince by her talent. Rrraah!
